Blues to drive away the blues

okey here goes.. another experiment 'Blues to drive away the blues'

on a second thought

I just went off stating that one cannot take a 'not' beautiful pic of the Maldivian beaches or seas, well come to think of it, I found this taken during 2008 Eid trip to Himmafushi..why do we do these things?

my web albums

was looking around how to get my pics uploaded as a stream and tried picasa on a suggestion here's the link http://picasaweb.google.com/naciha

I hope this works.. would have been so cool to have this as a separate hyperlink.. i'm yet to figure out if there's way that could be done

corals & shells ii

Corals or pebbles is a better word of Maavaidhoo beach.. once during a trip to Philip Island in Australia I was awed of all that different make-up of beach on one island and my friend Shim was surprised I found it new and amazing as someone from Maldives.. but I'd been exposed to very little of my country's incredible beauty..

corals & shells

A broken shell I found in Dhaal Kudahuvadhoo.. it hadn't lost its allure, i was drawn to it

bits from our islands..

yes, I'm having a lot of time on my hands.. actually no.. I'm supposed to be writing a paragraph on what i think about nature of language and theories of second language acquisition..and suddenly i remembered about my neglected blog :-D

I was fortunate enough to travel a bit last year.. I have heaps of pics of the the maldivian shorelines and our blue blue ocean they are all so beautiful .. yes you can't take a not beautiful pic of the maldivian beaches and sea.. I can't include them all here so I've just picked a few strange and beautiful bits of my trips.. above is part of a 'bodu/big' fish spine I may not be using the correct terminolgy here pardon my ignorance.. i suppose it was a whale .. this was in Makunudhoo.

leaning tower.. no tree..

This leaning fir/evergreen (I'm not sure) tree was in Lal Bagh in Bangalore.. my mom was awestruck by it too.. u cna see her gazing at the tree

Strange and beautiful

I left behind the battery charger of my camera during my 2007 trip to Bangalore and only recently did i get to see the pics i'd clicked... I find India fascinating..I wanted to upload these pics as a photostream but guess blogger doesn't work that way so I'll just upload my fav clips one by one.. and post the link to my flikr photostream once i organise that.. now i just loved this one.. mother feeding baby in the middle of a busy bus stop junction...

another rose in the rain

This was inside Makunudhoo school, its a beauiful island in the northern most Maldives i think.. sometimes I feel real bad that I know so little about my own country, but I've promised myslef that I will change this real soon

stranded at an airport

This was during my visit to HaaDhaal ... we were stuck in the airport for almost an hour because of the heavy rain.. now Hanimaadhoo is a small beautiful place, and i enjoyed every minute just daydreaming into th falling rain

reflections

An after the rain image... i love trying to capture images reflected on water... this is the Dhiraagu tower in Eydhafushi

I wasn't the only one out and about in the puddles.. these young ones had the best time body boarding in this huge puddle

A group of boys enjoying the rain.. i clicked several shots and this was the best one

man walking in the rain

i was on my way to school, under my umbrella of course, when I saw this chap crossing the grounds with a piece of cardboard over his head, I rushed in grabbed my camera and clicked it without asking his permission! but i suppose as none can see his face its quite alright :)

rain...my favourite element

rain is beautiful, rain is soothing, rain is refreshing... this was in Eydhafuhsi when I officially began being a teacher, I'd just returned from Australia and absolutely loved being able to walk in the rain again after a gap of 3 yrs, without turning into an icicle.

continuing with the singing

I started this blog as an effort to keep in touch with the ever quickly disappearing 'my' side of me, if that makes any sense. I wanted this space to be a place for me to jot down those lil bits of feelings that i sometimes get .. I always sms the silly lil lines i call poetry i come up with to my sweet friend afu and then forget about them, then it occured to me I should actually keep a record of them to you know sort of keep track of my mind hehehe but typing my random thoughts is so differnt to just rambling themselves to myself or to a friend, the latter is so much easier as my tongue goes wag wag faster than my fingers go tap tap, any how i'm goin to try with this again.. thought I'll just post my photographs up if not poems...
